NCSO Patrol

Two full-time Patrol Deputies, the Under-sheriff and Sheriff make up our patrol division.  They are charged with the patrol and law enforcement of 2,628 square miles of Niobrara County, Wyoming.

Through our county runs 60 miles of US Route 85, also known as the CanAm Highway, many people travel this route between Denver, Colorado and Rapid City, South Dakota.  Our deputies are out there working along side the Wyoming Highway Patrol.

Kelly Dean
Started working with the Niobrara County Sheriff's Office in 1994 as a dispatcher and reached the rank of Sgt. in the Detention Center.   In 2004 he went to work for the Lusk Police Department as Police Office.   He has worked for other Wyoming agencies, in Wheatland, Wyoming and for the Wyoming Department of Corrections.   Before returning the Niobrara County Sheriff's Office in 2009 as a Patrol Deputy Sheriff, he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad as a Train Service Conductor.

Wendi Dutcher
Started working with the Niobrara County Sheriff's Office in 1988 as a dispatcher and detention deputy sheriff.   She has worked for other Wyoming agencies, in Lusk, Cody and Douglas Wyoming.  In 2012 she returned to Niobrara County as a Patrol Deputy Sheriff.
